This delightful family has a great home in Alamo with fabulous outdoor space. For this home renovation, they wanted a fresh new kitchen, enlarged doorways, and totally redesigned fireplaces in two rooms, along with new flooring in kitchen and long hallway, a new powder room and structural redesign of ceiling soffits in the living room. With three kids under 12, they wanted an island with seating that would be the focal point in the kitchen, and a countertop with lots of room to bake. They also wanted a kitchen table for additional dining options. The design dilemma was that there were two opposing product wishes: one for a kitchen with white painted cabinets, and one for a kitchen with cherry wood cabinets. The compromise was creating a kitchen with all upper cabinets in white, and all base, tall cabinets, and island in cherry cabinetry. We think it’s a great look! We tied it all together with maple flooring with double inlays at entry and kitchen.
